Discussion Salons

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Join the discussion! The salon is a great opportunity to reflect and consolidate your conference thoughts. Grab a coffee or tea (your last of the day!), mingle and find a topic you’d like to discuss.

Your host will facilitate a 15-minute exploration on the topic, before you have the opportunity to visit another table.

Tables will be hosted by members of the BC TEAL community who represent the breadth of our sector:

  • Jennifer Cummins - How can we bring creativity to lesson planning?
  • Taslim Damji - How can we incorporate interculturalism in our classrooms?
  • Laura Haseley - How can we motivate learners in the EAL classroom?
  • Cindi Jones & Michael Galli - How can we engage with BC TEAL and/or the TCF?
  • Fey Laffitte - What's the role of EAL instructors in teaching values apart from language?
  • Moses Lam - How can we bring in pronunciation instruction into our classes?
  • Sarah Lynch - How can we implement Real World Tasks in our  classes?
  • Bushra Tariq - What are the challenges and advantages of EAL teachers of colour with non-anglicized accents?
  • Michael Wicks - How can we establish rapport in difficult classroom situations?
